Attention: Tunnel rennovation between Golling and Eben until summer 2025!
The tunnels on the autobahn between Golling and Eben are being renovated until summer 2025. That causes a lot of traffic. We recommend leaving the highway in Golling and take the B162 and B166 over Abtenau to Lungötz.
Travelling via the A8 – the journey is the goal
Those taking the journey towards Salzburg from Germany will be overwhelmed by the beautiful mountain scenery just after passing Munich. The A8 travels past Bavaria's largest lake, Chiemsee. Once you pass this, you know you will soon be greeted by the view of the mountains of Salzburg. From the A8 the journey continues on the A10, the Tauern highway. Be aware that you must have a vignette to drive on the highway in Austria - you can get one at a petrol station located before the border with Austria. Continue on the A10 until you come to the "Hüttau" exit. Exit the highway here. Follow the state road in the direction of Lammertal/St. Martin/Lungötz and turn left approximately 50 metres past the sign indicating you are now in Lungötz. Follow this road into the Lammertal, where you will find the Berghotel Lämmerhof.
Travelling via the A1
Those travelling from the east will follow the A1 for about 280 kilometres in the direction of Linz/St. Pölten until the exit for A10/E55. Continue towards Graz/Villach/Salzburg Süd. The imposing mountains of the province of Salzburg will grab a hold of you and direct you towards Lammertal. Continue on the A10 until you come to the "Hüttau" exit. Exit the highway here. Follow the state road in the direction of Lammertal/St. Martin/Lungoetz and turn left approximately 50 metres past the sign indicating you are now in Lungötz. Follow this road into the Lammertal, where you will find the Berghotel Laemmerhof.
