In the neighbouring settlement of Annaberg-Lungötz you will find one of the very best of the local via ferrata. The secure ascent leads over a length of 1,250 climbing metres from the Zwieselalm via the Ziehkogel, the little Donnerkogel, the Donnermandl and up to the great Donnerkogel. The ascent can be made either on foot (approx. 2 hours) or by making use of the regular operating times of the Donnerkogelbahn cable car in the summer (approx. half an hour). The descent is completed in the normal way from the great Donnerkogel.

The Gosausee via ferrata is situated by the lake and takes climbers over a rock face that has been equipped with ladders and features both a vantage point and a wire rope suspension bridge. It's a great experience for beginners and children alike.
Schmied via ferrata (the Schmiedsteig)

A few hundred meters from the Gosausee, adjacent to the Gosauschmied car park at the Stausee lake is the Schmiedsteig. This via ferrata is a little easier than the Gosausee via ferrata as the difficult points, such as the small wire rope bridge and the direct D/E entry-level versions can be avoided. This action-packed tour takes in 5 suspension bridges over rushing mountain streams. At the breathtaking Postalmklamm gorge, experienced climbers can try out the F-Version of the ascent here, which can also be avoided, however.
Ramsau via ferrata paradise
